A van carrying old automotive batteries rolls over on eastbound I-70, shutting down the highway at the 132 mile marker for nearly two hours. Last night, Columbia and Boone County crews arrived and saw battery acid leaking from the van.
A Haz Mat team was called in to contain the acid. The DNR and a clean-up contractor also arrived to remove the batteries before the van was turned over. No one was injured in the crash.
