Abortion Restrictions Proposed

Posted by staff on February 1, 2013

Legislation proposed in the Missouri House would outlaw abortions performed solely because of the sex or potential genetic abnormality of the fetus.

The bill would allow criminal charges and civil lawsuits against doctors for performing those kinds of abortions.

The anti-abortion group Americans United for Life says “sex-selection abortions” have become increasingly common in some Asian countries. The bill was filed by a state rep who is also a Baptist pastor in the Saint Louis area.
