Blunt Concerned about Defense Cuts
Big budget cuts are coming for the U.S. military. Missouri Senator Roy Blunt says that’s the result of the across the board budget cuts called sequestration, which kicks in March 1st. Blunt says he’s trying to help the military soften the blow.
“I’m submitting legislation that would let the Defense Department take their portion of cuts, and target them in the ways that they thought best this year,” Blunt says.
Blunt adds the Obama administration refuses to talk about targeted budget cuts and continues to call for increased taxes.
