Boaters find a body in Truman Lake, and investigators consider it a homicide.
Benton county sheriff Rick Fajen says the body of the young, white female was apparently weighted down, and floated to the surface Sunday in the Warsaw area of Truman lake. The victim is described as 13 to 20 years old and roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall, and investigators are trying to identify her. Authorities aren’t giving details yet about how they believe she was killed.
Investigators are also checking missing persons reports in Missouri and neighboring states to see if there’s a match.
