It was a bad time for his truck to break down….now a Columbia man is accused of breaking into a home north of Columbia on Kircher Road…..and he’s under investigation for other Boone County burglaries.
47 year-old Jimmy Simmons is arrested this week on Route HH, after a 4-hour manhunt. Boone County deputies received a call about a suspicious red truck parked north of Columbia. The woman inside said it had broken down and Simmons had gone to get help. When deputies found Simmons he ran. At the same time, area citizens started calling the Boone County Sheriff’s Department reporting home break-ins on Kircher Road. Recovered property leads deputies to believe Simmons also burglarized a home on Gibbs Road several days earlier. And investigators say Simmons may also be a suspect in recent burglaries north of Prathersville. Because of a parole violation warrant, Simmons has been sent back to the Department of Corrections.
