A Columbia man holds deputies and the SWAT team at bay for several hours inside a home in Boone County. The Sheriff’s Department says it started yesterday afternoon when deputies when called to a home on Old Highway 63 for a domestic disturbance. Deputies talked with a woman inside who said she had allegedly been cut with a knife and been shot at by 53 year old Chester Brown.
The victim was escorted by deputies from the scene and taken to a hospital. Brown stayed inside and refused to come out. Eventually, he did leave the residence and was taken to a hospital for treatment of a cut. Brown is facing charges of assault and armed criminal action.
