The Moberly woman accused of killing her newborn baby and dumping the body in a pond pleads not guilty to murder charges.
26-year-old Cassidy King waived a formal arraignment Wednesday in Randolph County Court. Police say King’s sister found a weighted duffel bag with the baby’s body inside in a Randolph County pond in May of 2011. County Coroner Gerald Luntsford later ruled the baby’s death to be a homicide.
King’s lawyer asked the court to change judges in the case, so the Missouri Supreme Court will assign a new one. There’s been no decision yet on a motion to move the case away from Randolph County Court.
