A Columbia man is under arrest, after he broke into a house and assaulted someone. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 30-year-old Douglas Nix, Jr., for an alleged burglary on Columbia’s Demaret Drive yesterday afternoon. The apparent victim says Nix forced his way into the residence, assaulted him, and then fled the scene. Nix then called the victim and told him not to report what happened. The total bond for nix is more than $15,000.
