Its back. By a unanimous vote at their meeting last (MON) night, the Columbia City council once again created a five member Enhanced Enterprise Zone board. This despite a lot of opposition from those in attendance and a threat from Keep Columbia Free to launch a recall effort against any city council member that voted to reestablish the board.
The Council also heard an ordinance that will split up the positions of the director of emergency management and the director of joint communications for Boone County. Zim Schwartze was let go from the combined position because of budgetary reasons. The council is expected to vote on the ordinance at their next meeting.
