The Columbia City Council barely passed an ordinance that bans the possession of fireworks.
You already couldn’t shoot them off in the city limits. The idea is to help police crack down on people who shoot them off.
The ordinance banning fireworks passed by a 4-3 vote. It goes into effect immediately.
