There’s some cleaning up to do at a Columbia duplex after a damaging fire.
The building near the intersection of Hendrix Drive and Sylvan Lane caught fire at about 12:15 Thursday afternoon. Fire Captain John Metz says most of the damage was in the attic, a bedroom ceiling, and along an outside wall. He says nobody was home at the time of the blaze. Crews were on the scene for a little more than two hours.
Investigators are still looking for the fire’s cause. It did an estimated 35-thousand dollars of damage.
