24 year old Clyde Hyler III is going to prison for the death of Antonio Flores-Ramirez. Hyler will serve consecutive sentences of 6 years for stealing and 14 years for voluntary manslaughter. Prosecutors recommended the 20 years. Hyler accepted a plea bargain in August. Police say Hyler wasn’t the gunman that killed Florez-Ramirez during the drug deal. 32 year old Antoine Harris and Hyler went to the Quail Drive apartment to sell drugs to Flores-Ramirez and another man who was critically wounded—but the marijuana was really packaged alfalfa. The men argued and police and prosecutors say it was Harris who shot and killed Flores Ramirez outside the apartment. Sentencing is December 14th for Harris who’s pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. During Hyler’s sentencing, the victim’s two sons, ages 9 and 11, read letters to the judge saying how much they miss their father.
