Columbia Murder Trial Continues

24 year old Damon Williams is accused of killing 22 year old Nathaniel Bentley.  Bentley was shot in his bedroom in June of 2008 during a robbery.  Williams’ friend, 19 year old Michael Jaco testified that Williams was the killer.  Jaco was one of 4 suspects who tried to rob Bentley while others were downstairs at the duplex on Pimlico drive.  Jaco accepted a plea agreement this summer and had his second-degree murder charge dropped if he admitted to robbery.  Williams was arrested 2 days after the shooting when a CrimeStoppers tip led Columbia Police to a stand-off at Arrowhead Motel on Business Loop 70.  Hearing testimony is a jury brought to Boone County from Pettis County.
