Her car is back…..a Columbia police officer became a crime victim Monday morning when someone stole her car from her driveway. No arrests have been made but the car was found Thursday in northwest Columbia. On Monday morning, the officer was getting ready for work. Because of the weather, she left her car running to warm up and went back in the house. But someone had other ideas and drove off in her 1997 ford Taurus. Just before midnight Thursday , a citizen called CrimeStoppers to report that he had seen the vehicle parked in his neighborhood on west wind drive. The car was undamaged and has been returned to the officer.

Did the officer receive a ticket? Anyone else would have. Pizza delivery drivers have been ticketed at gas stations and even after their own car had been stolen.
