***UPDATED STORY 11:05 a.m. Monday***

The two people who were apparently shooting at each other early yesterday (sun) morning, but hit a young woman instead, are still on the loose.

Garrett Murray of Columbia, and Jeremy Ruff of the Saint Louis area, allegedly traded shots from their vehicles near Rangeline and the Business Loop. A 22-year-old woman, who police believe was an innocent bystander, got shot in the back twice while in a separate car, and was seriously injured. She’s now in stable condition. Both Murray and Ruff face multiple charges, including Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed Criminal Action.

***ORIGINAL STORY***

A victim is caught in the crossfire after an apparent drive-by shooting in Columbia.

Police responded early Sunday morning to a shots fired call near Paris Road and the Business Loop. When they got there, officers found a 22-year-old woman wounded by gunfire, and shell casings nearby. She’s now in stable condition at University Hospital, and police say she wasn’t the intended victim.

Investigators say two people in separate cars were firing at each other, and have issued warrants for their arrest. Garrett Murray and Jeremy Ruff are each wanted for armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, and police are considering them both armed and dangerous.
