An investigation is underway in Saline County after the body of a missing 18-month-old is discovered on a creek bank.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Department says the baby’s disorientated mother showed up at a house early Sunday morning and remembered leaving the baby girl there.
Authorities have been searching for the girl’s mother since Thursday. She is wanted in connection with a pickup truck that was stolen and left in a wheat field.
Her relatives contacted authorities, saying they were unable to find her and that she had her daughter with her.
Authorities searched for the mother and daughter Saturday. At this time, the Sheriff’s Department says no charges have been filed.
