Downtown Cameras Up For 2nd Vote

The 2nd vote on downtown surveillance cameras comes tonight for Columbia council members.  They’ve already said “no” to more cameras in April when they were approached by Karen and Adam Taylor after Adam was beaten and robbed in a Columbia parking garage.  The June 2008 attack was captured on surveillance camera—and police made quick arrests after viewing the camera.  The tailors’ petition drive has brought the issue back up before the council.   Tonight the council could turn it down or put it on the April ballot for voters to decide.
