Drowning at Lake of the Ozarks

A Gravois Mills man died at the Lake of the Ozarks Friday night.
Ernest Ekstam, 67, jumped in the water near the .3 Mile Marker of the Gravois Arm of the Lake to help a struggling swimmer. He started having his own problems swimming, and drowned.
He was pronounced dead at 6:20pm Friday. No word from the Highway Patrol on the status of the swimmer Ekstam was trying to save.
