A late night traffic stop turns into a high-speed chase in Columbia….and a woman is hit by the car she had been riding in.Last night (Sunday) at 11, a Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to stop a car on New Haven Road and Highway 63. The vehicle sped off onto Highway 63 and then stopped. As the deputy walked up to the car, he recognized the driver as 38 year old Leo Robinson of Columbia. That’s when Robinson fled the scene. Robinson got off Highway 63 and turned onto I-70 Drive Southeast where he stopped again. This time his female passenger jumped out…the car struck the woman as he took off again. She received minor injuries. Robinson finally stopped his car near Keene Street and was arrested. He’s charged with DWI, resisting arrest, assault, driving under suspension, possession of marijuana and failure to register a motor vehicle.
