A violent home invasion burglary in Columbia. This happened late Tuesday night in the 14-hundred block of avatar court. Police say a 25-year-old woman was sleeping around 11:30pm when two men kicked in the back door of her home, grabbed her off the bed and threw her to the ground. The victim was hit in the face as well. The suspects then stole her purse and fled. That purse was found about 20 minutes later in the area of Edenton blvd and Bodie drive. No arrests, and police say the investigation continues.
