All lanes of Interstate 70 are back open, after a fiery wreck at the Missouri River Bridge west of Columbia shut it down for more than an hour Tuesday.
A car hauler caused a massive accident at about 9:00 a.m.
“It struck a stranded vehicle on the bridge,” says Sgt. Paul Reinsch of the Highway Patrol. “One of the cars on the tractor trailer flew into the westbound lanes, blocking the westbound lanes as well. And one of the vehicles caught on fire in the eastbound lanes.”
No word yet on the health of anyone involved in the accident.
