A potentially suicidal man that put Jefferson City police on a manhunt is arrested and charged with sexual assault. Police took 42-year-old Brett Courtney Thursday afternoon after spotting him as a passenger in a car. He had a loaded gun on him. On Wednesday night, officers had a standoff and manhunt in the 200 block of Indian meadow drive, believing Courtney was a threat to himself. Police eventually entered the house and found Courtney was gone. While searching the home, they found evidence linking him to a sexual assault on July 9th in the same neighborhood. Courtney faces six felony counts, he’s currently being held without bond.
