Last Honor Flight of the Year
The last Central Missouri Honor Flight of the year takes off before dawn Tuesday with another 65 World War II veterans on board. They’ll board buses at the Courtyard by Marriott at 3a.m. to make the trip to Lambert Airport. From there, they’ll fly to Baltimore…and then board another bus for the short ride into the nation’s capital. You can welcome the veterans home Tuesday night when the buses arrive back at the hotel at about 11:15 p.m. You’re encouraged to bring signs and flags to wave as the veterans get off the bus. The Central Missouri Honor Flight doesn’t fly during the winter months due…..Honor Flights will resume in the Spring…and many more mid-Missouri World War II veterans are on a waiting list…waiting for a chance to see their memorial.
Honor Flight flies terminally ill and aging veterans to see their memorials in Washington, DC at no cost to them.
The mid-mo hub of Honor Flight started in January and is ending the year with seven completed flights….safely escorting about 400 veterans to see their memorials. If you’d like to adopt a veteran, apply or volunteer to help Central Mo. Honor Flight, you can go to its website at www.centralmissourihonorflight.com .

What the WWII veterans did is truly incredible! You guys won a World war in 5 years! Our current adminstrations have been fighting the war on Terror for 9 with little to show for it, if anything at all. We need guys like you back in charge so we can get the job done. My father was there in Europe with General Patton. His health won”t allow him to be there with you, but I will be there to honor you for him. God Bless you all and I hope this County can finally get our collective heads out of our you know whats and do the right things again. I salute you all! THANK YOU!
