An administrator at a college in North Carolina will become the new president of Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Curators announced Friday that Kevin Rome (pictured) will be the school’s 19th president, beginning June 1st.
Rome will succeed Carolyn Mahoney, who retired in August.
Rome has been vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management at North Carolina Central University in Durham since 2008.
Connie Hamacher will continue to serve as interim president until May 31st.
Columbia College, meanwhile, names an interim president, and takes a long view in the search for a permanent leader.
Friday, the school’s Board of Trustees named Dr. Terry Smith as CC’s interim president. He’s currently the college’s Executive Vice President and academic dean. Current leader Dr. Gerald Brouder is set to retire on August 1st.
The Trustees also announced the members of the search committee for Columbia College’s 17th permanent president. That group will work to have someone in place by July 2014.
