The man accused in an apparent robbery that turned into murder in Columbia back in December 2010 pled guilty Friday. Ryan Bridger was sentenced to 27 years behind bars for the murder of Althea Turner. Boone County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Knight says, had it gone to a jury, his office’s case would have been based on circumstantial evidence, and they had no confession or eyewitness. Turner was found unconscious inside her Northeast Columbia home. She died later at a hospital.
