Columbia Police say they have one person in custody after a fire this weekend at an apartment on Apple Tree Court. Damon Poston, Junior was arrested on Sunday morning.
Police say around 4:30 on Sunday morning, Poston broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and started a fire in the bedroom. She was not there, but her brother was home.
The apartment was part of a four plex. 11 people were there when the fire broke out. No one was injured.
Poston then took his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle and left.
He would be arrested about four hours later at his residence after a brief stand off with police in Columbia.
