Missouri education leaders make plan to improve pubic education

What’s the future of education look like in Missouri? That was the focus of a meeting in Jefferson City on Monday.  About 120 school superintendents and school board members met to find ways to improve public education.  It’s called the Public Education Vision Project.Springfield Superintendent of Schools Norman Ridder says now is the best time to focus the future of education.

“It’s interesting how during a time of recession, kids are very serious about education,” said Ridder. “So, there’s that factor as well. In other words, if kids are more engaged, and the parents are more engaged we are able then to be more efficient, effective.”

The school leaders will facilitate a series of public meetings around Missouri in November, then issue a report in October of next year.
