Moberly Police are mounting a campaign to stop the wild dogs that are running around the central part of that Randolph county town. Police say the complaints are becoming more frequent on calls about violence and property damage linked to dogs. Police say they’ll be using extended-range euthanasia methods to stop the animals since traps and tranquilizer guns haven’t worked. All dogs in Moberly must be under the control of the owner at all times.

This is a really bad idea and a great way for the city to get sued again. Maybe using extended-range euthanasia (shooting the dog in the head) is a good last resort, but this story sure doesn’t sound like a last resort – it’s sounds like if your dog gets out of your fenced back yard or breaks a leash – it could be shot immediately.
