With the hot dry weather still in effect, MODOT says it will help farmers. Officials will allow heavier than normal loads of corn, crop silage and bales to be hauled on selected highways. Carriers may haul up to 10 percent more than their licensed weight but will not be allowed to travel on interstates or national defense highway routes.
An overweight permit is not required and all other normal traffic regulations remains in place. This waiver is in effect from now until August 31st.
