One Dead As Plane Goes Down in Randolph County

A crop duster plane crashes in Randolph County, killing the pilot.

The crash happened Friday morning in a corn field north of Huntsville.

Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols says a witness told deputies the plane appeared to have clipped a tree top before crashing.

The plane was stationed in Chariton County, but the Sheriff’s Department hasnt confirmend the name of the flying service.

An autopsy on the pilot is scheduled for Monday.  The name of the pilot has not been released.
