58 year old Vernell Wilkerson is arrested in the Georgetown subdivision for drug possession with the intent to distribute. A Boone county sheriff’s deputy was finishing up an investigation when he spots a passing car—and it was the same one he stopped last week for displaying improper registration. The registration still hasn’t been updated. Wilkerson parked the car and get out. The officer said he recognized him as having his driver’s license revoked. The deputy saw Wilkerson throw a paper sack down. The suspect gave permission for a search of his vehicle. The search turned up 208 grams of marijuana. 20 grams of marijuana were in the sack. Wilkerson is arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, driving while revoked and failure to register a motor vehicle. He’s already on probation for distribution, delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance.
