Columbia firefighters have to use the “jaws of life” to save the driver in a semi-truck accident.
Crews were called to the intersection of Stadium and East Pointe Drive just before 1:00 Monday afternoon. Fire officials say the truck was carrying concrete bricks when it struck a light pole and overturned. The driver was trapped inside, and taken to University Hospital for treatment.
Traffic was slowed in the area as crews worked to clean up the scene.
