Slow-Down Expected at Stadium and I-70

Keep an eye out for MoDot trucks on the area’s only diverging diamond interchange. Engineer Charles Sullivan says drivers have complained about faded stripes on the lanes of I-70 overpass at Stadium Boulevard in Columbia for most of the winter.

“We know it’s a needed thing, and we’re looking at it more as a safety feature, so yes, we’re out there striping that,” says Sullivan.

Sullivan says, besides faded stripes, he’s only heard minor concerns about the new traffic pattern on Stadium at I-70, and traffic flow has apparently improved.

  1. I think the double diverging diamond has been a waste of millions of dollars, and even after spending all that money they already have to go back out to fix stuff. there has not been an increase of traffic flow, what little there is, is because of the extra lane of traffic, not the double diverging diamond.
