A candle leads to 25-thousand dollars in damage at a Southwest Columbia home. Firefighters responded to a blaze on Crawford Street Saturday morning. The home hadn’t had power since Friday evening, when a thunderstorm caused a tree limb to fall on power lines. Residents were using a candle for lighting during the outage.

The 25-thousand dollars in damage was all in the garage area. No one was injured.
