Columbia Police training may be altered to meet suggestions of a taser manufacturer. Taser International recommends that police departments across the country avoid using the weapons on someone’s chest. Company officials suggest that officers strike a person in the abdomen or thighs when deploying tasers. Columbia Police officials say they’ll heed the suggestion and will tell officers to try to aim for the thighs or abs….but Columbia police haven’t been told to not shoot the probes into someone’s chest. If Columbia police have time in a crisis situation, they are to try to aim the taser lower than the chest.

I think this is ridicules, we expect the police to protect us….yet we slap their hands when they do and try and take away all their tools to do so. If a criminal doesn’t comply shoot them in the head with the probe!!! We must have a swift and firm hand of justice to keep our society safe.
