Suicidal Man Shot & Killed by Callaway Deputy
When a Callaway County Sheriff’s Deputy went to check on a suicidal man, shots were exchanged and the man is dead. The man’s name hasn’t been released. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where he died. At 7:45 Tuesday night, the Callaway Deputy went to the man’s home, north of Holts Summit to check on him. His brother called to say his brother was suicidal and asked that a deputy go to the home. The Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation. Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane has put the deputy on administrative leave. The deputy wasn’t injured.
