A trespasser gets a little more than he bargained for in Boone County. The sheriff’s department reports a woman on Sugar Creek Drive yesterday afternoon heard gunshots near her home. She grabbed her gun, went outside, and found a man trespassing on her property. The homeowner told him he was trespassing, and the male suspect responded by shooting at her. She shot back, but no one was hit. The homeowner refused medical treatment at the scene. The trespasser ran off after she shot at him, and the search for the suspect continues.
