Witness Helps Arrest Bank Robber

Two people are now in jail, following an attempted robbery Thursday afternoon at a bank in the small Shelby County town of Clarence. The Highway Patrol announced Friday that 26-year-old Savanna Barger of Atlanta, MO, is now in custody, accused as an accomplice in the armed theft at The Community State Bank.
The alleged thief, 26-year-old Cody Barber of Iowa, didn’t get very far Thursday. After the robbery, Sergeant Brent Bernhardt says a witness saw the suspect get in a car, so he called the cops and followed him. Law enforcement found Barber a couple miles northeast of town.
Sergeant Bernhardt says he can’t tell us the name of the man who helped track Barber down yet, or comment on how Barger was involved with the robbery.
Authorities have found the man who may have robbed a Shelby County bank.
The Community State Bank in Clarence was robbed Thursday afternoon by a man with a gun. A witness saw the alleged thief get in a car, called the cops, and followed him. Cody Barber, 26, of Moulton, Iowa, was arrested about an hour later a couple miles northeast of town. He’s in the Shelby County Jail. The investigation continues, because there may have been an accomplice involved too.
